Favorite Sheet Masks

Image
Sheet face masks are a staple in Asian skin care regimens and have recently gained popularity in the American skin care market.  Sheet masks are used by some Korean women on a daily basis and are a part of their everyday skin care routine.  Here are some of my current favorite sheet masks!. *** The Face Shop Real Nature Face Mask - Kelp This mask is very affordable at around $2 for one mask.  This mask is very soft, adheres well to the skin, and comes with ample essence.  I typically use this mask when my skin is irritated or when I'm struggling with breakouts as it is very soothing and purifying.  I have had no issues with sensitivity with this mask.  This mask contains kelp extract, which aids in the elimination of impurities and protects the skin. *** Very Mom Seed Ceramide Sheet Mask This mask is around $28 for 5 masks (I usually order these on Amazon.com however unfortunately it is currently out of stock).  This mask is one of the most moisturizing sheet ma

Heimish All Clean Balm

The Heimish All Clean Balm is a solid cleanser that melts as you massage it into your skin and emulsifies as you add water.  It is made with soothing ingredients such as coconut extract, rose extract, and tea tree oil.  It is one of my favorite products to use as the first step in double cleansing.   *** Why should you double cleanse your skin?  It is so important to remove all of the makeup and dirt at the end of a long day to prevent clogged pores and breakouts.  Clean skin is better able to absorb serums - if you are going to spend money on skin care products, we want them to work their best!   I know it has been awhile, but thinking back to chemistry class - like dissolves like.  Oil-based cleansers are able to pick up and dissolve the oils that have built up on our skin, as well as any oil-based makeup we may have applied.  Water and oil do not mix.  Thus, water based cleansers alone will not be nearly as effective in removing the oil buildup on our skin as an oil

Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence

It seems only fitting to start my blog with a review of one of my holy grail and favorite skin care products.  I have been using the Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence for about 5 years now and cannot live without it. First of all, what is an essence?  An essence is one step in the Korean skin care routine and is applied after toner, before a serum.  It provides a thin layer of extra hydration prior to the application of your serum and also helps your serum to work as effectively as possible. The Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence contains 80% fermented yeast extract, which promotes skin hydration and brightness.  Compared to its counterparts such as the SKII treatment essence, the Missha essence is affordable at $49.  I have tried the SKII treatment essence and it has a very pungent smell that I found bothersome every time I applied it.  I found the Missha essence to be just as effective as the SKII essence for a fraction of the price and without
