Skinceuticals Purifying Cleanser Gel
Washing your face - this is something that we all do every morning and evening. It seems very simple, but here are a few tips to ensure that you're getting the most out of each time you wash your face.
First of all, water temperature is important - try to use lukewarm water. Lukewarm water helps to open the pores and remove the dirt from our skin. But hotter is not better! If the water temperature is too hot, this can lead to dilation of your skin's delicate blood vessels, cause breakage of tissue, and dehydrate your skin.
Oftentimes people wash their faces too quickly! Especially in the mornings, we are all in a rush to get ready and head out the door to work, but your face cleanser can only remove dirt from your skin if you allow it the time to do so. It takes about 30 seconds to wash your face effectively. Use your fingertips to gently massage your cleanser into your skin in circular motions, focusing on your T-zone or areas that you are particularly oily - harsh rubbing of your skin is not recommended! Gentle massaging will help to stimulate the circulation in your face and prepares your skin for the rest of your skincare routine.
Lastly, pat your skin dry with a clean towel. It is so easy to use your bath towel on your face, but to avoid spreading more bacteria to your face, try to have a separate face towel at your bathroom sink. Also pat your skin - try to avoid rubbing your skin with your towel as any repeated rubbing can lead to the development of wrinkles.
The cleanser I am currently using is the Skinceuticals Purifying Cleanser Gel, which was recommended to me by my aesthetician. I have been using this for about 2 months and have been really enjoying this product. It contains glycolic acid, which is an alpha-hydroxy acid that exfoliates dead skin cells away, as well as glycerin, which helps to bind water and hydrate the skin, and a "mild surfactant system," which is described as a sulfate-free, paraben-free, fatty acid based surfactant to emulsify and remove dirt and debris. This cleanser is impressive as it effectively cleans and exfoliates the skin without stripping the skin of its moisture. This is available from Bluemercury.com or Dermstore.com for $34 for 6.8 fl. oz. I received an email today from Dermstore.com for 15% off of Skinceuticals products until 04/12/18 with code SKINC15.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
